George Pappas, Brian O’Rear and Legal Assistant, Elizabeth Sanders, Obtain Victory in Automatic Door Case

George Pappas, Brian O’Rear and legal assistant, Elizabeth Sanders, of Pappas Grubbs Price, Houston, Texas earned a hard fought victory in the case, Ralph Matthews v. Home Depot U.S.A. and Stanley Access Technologies LLC which was tried in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Honorable Kenneth Hoyt presiding. Plaintiff Matthews, sued Home Depot and Stanley, alleging an automatic door closed on him causing him to fall and break his hip. Pappas Grubbs Price client, Stanley Access Technologies, the manufacturer and, when requested,  maintenance service provider of the automatic sliding door, was alleged to have negligently maintained the door. After four days of trial, the trial team was successful in obtaining judgment as a matter of law for Stanley. A settlement ensued between Plaintiff and Home Depot.  We are extremely proud of our attorneys for this great result.
