  • Successfully defended a Fortune 100 client, in a negligence and product liability suit involving wrongful death and personal injury claims, centering around a catastrophic explosion and fire which killed or injured over 40 people. Mr. Wilson was able to get the firm’s client dismissed from the suit due to the Plaintiffs’ failure to specifically identify any product, manufactured or sold by the client, that was causally related to the explosion and fire.
  • Obtained a summary judgment for a firm client in a wrongful death case centering around two workers being hit by an Automated People Mover tram (APM) at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. At the time of the accident, the firm client (a construction company) was doing punch list work in the spur area of the APM where no trains were running. The accident occurred when the airport’s Project Manager (who was supervising the work of the firm client) and a foreman for the firm client inexplicably walked from the designated work site onto the main APM tracks and were hit by an APM. The Project Manager was killed and the firm client’s foreman suffered catastrophic brain and bodily injuries. The foreman did not sue the firm client because of the Texas workers’ compensation bar. All of the other Defendants had settled or been dismissed and the firm client was the only remaining trial Defendant with the trial set in three weeks. Mr. Wilson was able to convince the court that although the men were working on a punch list item for the firm client, the client did not owe a duty to the deceased Project Manager.
  • Successfully defended a road construction company in a jury trial involving a fiery, multi-vehicle accident and multiple fatalities that occurred within a construction project wherein the jury’s verdict resulted in his client obtaining a take-nothing judgment. Other Defendants had paid millions of dollars to settle the claims of the various Plaintiffs and the estates of the decedents.
  • Successfully defended and obtained a dismissal of a road construction company in a case involving an accident occurring within a construction zone and in which the Plaintiff suffered a lower limb amputation.
  • Successfully defended a product liability manufacturer and resolved a product liability/wrongful death claim, involving allegations of defective fall protection equipment where a worker fell from a tanker to the concrete floor and died after spending thirty days in ICU.
  • Successfully defended a product manufacturer in toxic tort litigation, Mr. Wilson organized and lead a defense group of over fifty Defendants in obtaining the dismissal of over 200 claims against his client, either via the granting of motions for summary judgment (no causation) or via non-suits, in four different state district courts.
