Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Sarah Payne is a second-generation trial lawyer. Her practice centers on commercial and business litigation.
Ms. Payne holds bachelors and master’s degrees in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She received her legal education from South Texas College of Law, where she participated in moot court and served as an editor for the school’s law review.
Ms. Payne graduated and passed the Texas Bar Exam in 2013. Early in her career, she represented large insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes and actions involving products or premises liability. She subsequently gained extensive, broad-based civil litigation experience practicing law alongside her father and has successfully represented clients on both sides of the docket, and on appeal, in a variety of industries and practice areas, including health care, business, real estate, construction, and trusts and estates.
Ms. Payne joined Sheehy, Ware & Pappas in 2019, bringing with her a commitment to obtaining favorable, client-driven results for individuals and businesses facing all stages of civil litigation and arbitration.
Outside the courtroom, she enjoys volunteering through the Junior League of Houston, gardening, and spending time with her dog, Ernie.
