Amanda joined the firm in January 2016 after spending her early career at another civil defense litigation firm. Amanda earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in May 2008. Though Amanda’s practice covers several areas of law, her primary practice is in general civil defense litigation, employer liability, maritime law, defending employers and carriers from claims under the Defense Base Act/Longshore Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and Jones Act litigation.

In the past, Amanda has representing international drilling companies, oilfield service providers, pipeline transportation and energy storage companies, regional oil and gas exploration firms, one of the world’s largest platform and rig companies, as well as their underwriters and other insurance companies. She has been involved in traditional litigation as well as arbitration proceedings involving death claims, litigation in front of Administrative Law Judges (DBA/Longshore), personal injury lawsuits, and property losses, and has assisted in reviewing and rendering legal opinions on drilling contracts, indemnity contracts, insurance policies, and other commercial documents, including employer Dispute Resolution Programs.

Amanda has been named a Texas Rising Star yearly since 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, watching football, and reading.

  • Presented to Houston Claims Association – Timberwalk and its Progeny – Criminal Activities on Owner’s Premises and Liability of Owner for same
  • Assisted with presenting several presentations on the Jones Act and Longshore Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act as extended by Defense Base Act to client contacts for continuing education credit.
